About part number 9831684680A charge port door flap is a bodywork panel that covers and protects the electric vehicle charging socket from dirt, rain and road spray. Connected to the rear wing or quarter panel on the exterior of the vehicle, it opens to allow access for the charging cable and latches shut when the vehicle is being driven. When it is working correctly, the driver notices a smooth opening mechanism and a flap that sits flush with the surrounding bodywork. To confirm that this item is correct for your vehicle, you must check the original manufacturer part number on your existing unit. For this item, the correct part number is 9831684680. On a charge port door flap, this number is typically stamped or printed on the inner plastic housing, hinge mechanism or rear face of the panel. Matching this part number precisely is the only way to guarantee correct fitment and operation. A charge port flap is commonly replaced due to accidental impact damage, broken hinges, a failing release latch mechanism, or cosmetic scratching. When replacing this part, you may also require new plastic mounting clips, fixing screws, or an internal latch actuator if the surrounding assembly was damaged during the failure. |
