About part number 8B9854871A rear door vertical trim covers the exterior pillar section of the rear door on the left-hand side of the vehicle. Part of the body moulding and exterior trim system, it seals the edge around the door window glass, protects the underlying metal frame from water ingress, and provides a smooth finish alongside the window panels. When this part is fitted correctly, the driver will notice a clean exterior appearance, secure glass alignment, and reduced wind noise around the rear door frame while travelling. To confirm that this part is correct for your vehicle, you must match the manufacturer part number 8B9854871 directly against the code stamped on your existing unit. On exterior trim pieces like this, the original part number is usually molded or stamped into the plastic or metal on the inner face that sits hidden against the door frame. Matching this exact part number is what determines correct fitment, rather than relying on vehicle details. Replacing an exterior door trim is usually necessary after physical damage, severe surface scratching, or when the original mounting clips snap and allow the panel to come loose. When installing a replacement vertical trim, a person often needs replacement plastic retaining clips or fresh adhesive tape, as the original fixings frequently break or lose their bond during removal.
