About part number 51128093898An exhaust exit trim cover is a decorative surround fitted to the rear bumper that frames the end of the exhaust pipe. It belongs to the exterior trim system and protects the surrounding bumper panel from exhaust heat and soot. When it is correctly fitted, the trim gives the back of the vehicle a neat, finished appearance and keeps the exhaust outlet aligned securely within the bodywork. To ensure this is the correct component for your vehicle, you must check the original manufacturer part number stamped directly onto your existing trim. For this item, the main part number to match is 51128093898. Motor manufacturers often place these identification numbers on the inner face or reverse side of the moulding, where they are protected from road dirt and weather. People usually replace an exhaust trim cover if it has been scuffed during parking, cracked in a minor rear collision, or damaged by long-term exposure to road debris and heat. When replacing this part, you often need replacement mounting clips or plastic fasteners, as the original fixings frequently snap or lose their grip during removal. |
