About part number 1090493A secondary door seal is part of the weatherproofing system on the bodywork. It attaches around the door aperture or inner door frame on the left-hand side of the vehicle, creating a tight barrier when the door is closed. When it is working correctly, the driver notices a quieter cabin with less wind noise, no water ingress during wet weather, and smooth door closure without drafts. To confirm that this item is correct for your vehicle, you must match the part number directly. The manufacturer reference number for this part is 1090493. On a door seal, this part number is usually printed, stamped, or stamped onto a small tag along the rubber profile or near one of the mounting ends. Matching this exact number is what determines correct fitment. A secondary door seal is usually replaced when the original rubber perishes, splits, flattens, or tears away from its fixings. When fitting a replacement seal, a technician often needs panel cleaning solvent to remove old adhesive, along with fresh trim clips or rubber bonding compound to hold the new seal securely in place. |
