About part number 85770J7700WKA boot cargo compartment edge protector is an interior trim component fitted at the rear load entrance of the boot. It covers and protects the painted metal panel or plastic scuff plate along the lower boot opening where heavy luggage, shopping, or equipment is lifted into the vehicle. When the correct trim panel is in place, it shields the load sill from scratches and impact damage, providing a clean and finished appearance inside the luggage area. To confirm that this part is correct for your vehicle, you must check that your original part matches the part number 85770J7700WK. On interior boot trim panels, the part number is usually stamped or molded directly into the plastic on the reverse side. Matching this exact number is the only way to ensure the panel will fit your vehicle correctly, as vehicle models and years should not be used to judge compatibility. This type of trim panel is commonly replaced when the original piece is cracked, scraped, or has broken mounting clips from loading heavy items. When replacing this edge protector, you will usually need replacement plastic trim clips or fasteners to secure the new panel firmly in position.
