About part number HY32-40406-BA rear tailgate handle with a release button allows the driver or passenger to open the boot easily from the outside of the vehicle. It belongs to the bodywork and door lock system, connecting the external release button to the internal latch mechanism. When functioning correctly, pressing the button electronically or mechanically triggers the latch, allowing the boot lid to open smoothly every time. To confirm this is the correct part for your vehicle, you must check the part number stamped on your original component. The number for this item is HY32-40406-B, and it is usually printed or moulded directly onto the plastic housing or internal bracket of the old handle assembly. Matching this exact part number is the only way to guarantee correct fitment and function. These units are commonly replaced when the internal switch fails, the wiring degrades, or the outer housing suffers physical damage or water ingress. When replacing this part, you may also need replacement plastic trim clips, as the interior door card or boot liner often needs to be removed to access the mounting bolts and electrical connectors. |
