About part number 10462990A front windscreen scuttle panel trim is an exterior body component located at the base of the front windscreen. It covers the gap between the bonnet and the glass, forming a protective barrier over the wiper linkage and cabin air intake. When working properly, it channels rainwater away from the bulkhead, prevents leaves and debris from blocking drainage channels, and provides a neat finish to the base of the glass. To ensure this part is correct for your vehicle, you must check the part number 10462990 matches the number stamped or printed on your original unit. On a trim panel of this type, the part number is usually moulded into the plastic on the underside or stamped on an identification label. Matching this exact number is the only way to confirm correct fitment and alignment. These panels are commonly replaced due to sun damage, cracking, or snapped fixing tabs caused by age and weather exposure. They are also often renewed if damaged during a windscreen replacement. When fitting a replacement scuttle trim, you will usually need fresh plastic retaining clips and windscreen wiper arm fixings, as original clips often break during removal.
