About part number 9813562880A firewall soundproofing insulation panel is part of the acoustic and thermal insulation system fitted to the engine bay bulkhead. It sits between the engine compartment and the cabin to block mechanical noise, vibration and engine heat from entering the passenger interior. When it is working correctly, the driver experiences a quiet, comfortable cabin with reduced engine hum and less heat transfer through the footwells. To confirm this part is correct for your vehicle, you must check that the part number matches your original unit exactly. The manufacturer reference number for this component is 9813562880. On a panel like this, the number is usually stamped, moulded or printed onto the surface of the insulation material or on an attached manufacturer label. Matching this part number is the only way to guarantee a correct fit. When replacing firewall insulation, installers often require new plastic mounting clips, push-pins or metal retaining washers, as the original fasteners frequently break or stretch during removal. These panels are typically replaced when they become torn, waterlogged from leaking scuttle drains, oil-soaked from engine bay leaks, or damaged by rodents nesting in the engine bay.
