About part number 31687749A parking sensor wiring loom is an electrical cable harness that belongs to the driver assistance and parking distance control system. It connects the individual ultrasonic parking sensors located in the bumper to the main control module or vehicle wiring network. When the system is working correctly, the driver receives accurate audible beeps or visual display prompts when manoeuvring close to obstacles. To ensure this is the correct item for your vehicle, you must check that your existing loom matches part number 31687749. Manufacturer numbers are typically printed on a white adhesive tag wrapped around the main wire branch, or stamped directly onto the plastic connector plugs. Matching the part number exactly is the only way to confirm correct fitment. Wiring looms are usually replaced due to water ingress, corroded pin terminals, or physical damage caused by a minor rear or front impact. When replacing a damaged wiring loom, you may also need replacement bumper retaining clips, cable ties, or new sensor sealing rings to ensure a secure and weather-resistant installation. |
