About part number 31297584A door mirror provides the driver with a view along the side and to the rear of the vehicle, helping with safe lane changes and parking. Mounted on the exterior door panel, this electrically folding unit folds inwards when required to protect the glass and casing from damage in narrow spaces. When working correctly, the mirror glass responds smoothly to the switch controls, and the folding mechanism operates quietly without sticking. To confirm that this part is correct for your vehicle, check that the part number matches 31297584 exactly. On a door mirror, the manufacturer number is usually printed on a label or stamped directly into the plastic housing on the inner mounting face, which is visible once the assembly is removed from the door. Matching this number is the only way to guarantee correct fitment and function. Door mirrors are usually replaced due to impact damage from passing traffic, broken glass, or failure of the internal folding motor. Anyone fitting a replacement mirror often needs basic trim removal tools to carefully detach the interior door card without damaging the clips, as well as replacing any broken plastic fasteners during reassembly. |
