About part number 31656988A headlight assembly is a key part of the vehicle lighting system, positioned at the front of the bodywork. It projects a beam of light onto the road to illuminate the path ahead in dark or poor driving conditions, while also making the vehicle visible to other road users. When functioning correctly, it provides clear, bright illumination and allows the driver to switch safely between different light modes. To ensure this is the correct part for your vehicle, you must match the part number 31656988 directly with the number stamped or printed on your original unit. On a headlight assembly, this identifier is usually found on a sticker or cast directly into the plastic housing on the back or top of the unit. Matching this number exactly is the only way to confirm correct fitment and electrical compatibility. Headlight units are commonly replaced due to impact damage, cracked lenses, broken mounting tabs, or internal electrical failures. When replacing a headlight assembly, you may also need replacement fixing clips, screws, or wiring connector plugs if the originals were damaged during a collision or during the removal process.
