About part number 86523-G5500A fog light cover is a plastic trim piece that fits into the front bumper around the fog lamp assembly. It belongs to the exterior bodywork and lighting system, securing the light unit in place while filling the gap between the lamp and the bumper skin. When the cover is intact and fitted correctly, it protects the light fixings from road debris and gives the front of the vehicle a neat, finished appearance. To ensure this is the correct item for your vehicle, you must check the part number stamped directly onto the part itself. For this item, the correct reference to match is 86523-G5500. This number is usually moulded into the plastic on the reverse side of the trim panel. Matching this part number exactly is the only way to confirm correct fitment, as shape and clip locations vary between different trim specifications. When replacing a fog light cover, you may also need new plastic mounting clips or screws if the original fixings snapped during removal. Drivers usually replace this part because of impact damage from stones, low-speed parking scrapes, or because the original trim panel has cracked, faded, or dislodged from the bumper. |
