Informazioni sul codice ricambio FK62-5A262An exhaust hanger mount is a flexible rubber or synthetic bracket that supports the exhaust system beneath the vehicle. It attaches the heavy metal exhaust pipe and silencer sections to the underside of the chassis, holding the pipework in its correct position. When it is working correctly, it holds the exhaust firmly in place without knocking, whilst absorbing engine vibrations so they do not travel through the floor and into the cabin. To ensure this is the correct component for your vehicle, you must check that your original part displays the part number FK62-5A262. On a rubber mounting bracket like this, the part number is typically stamped or moulded directly into the surface of the rubber or onto its metal reinforcement sleeve. Matching this exact reference number is the only way to guarantee correct fitment. These rubber mounts are usually replaced because heat from the exhaust pipes and exposure to road spray cause the material to perish, stretch, crack or split over time. A damaged mount can allow the exhaust to sag or rattle against the bodywork. When replacing this bracket, it is common practice to inspect and replace adjacent rubber hangers at the same time to ensure equal support across the system. |
