About part number 4G5807394

A bumper mount bracket is a structural fixing that secures the outer bumper panel to the vehicle bodywork. Situated within the rear exterior mounting system, it provides a firm anchoring point on the right-hand side to keep the bumper correctly aligned. When this part is fitted and working as intended, the driver will notice that the rear bumper panel sits flush against the surrounding bodywork without sagging, vibrating, or showing uneven gaps.

To ensure this is the correct component for your vehicle, you must check that your existing part displays the exact part number 4G5807394. On a mounting bracket of this type, the number is usually stamped or moulded directly into the plastic or metal surface. Matching this part number is the only way to confirm correct fitment, as vehicle models and trim levels use different bracket designs.

These brackets are most commonly replaced after a rear impact, or when the original plastic clips and mounting tabs become brittle and snap over time. When replacing a damaged bracket, you will usually need replacement fixings, such as plastic rivets, screws, or trim clips, as the original hardware is often damaged or lost during removal.

• Part type: Mounts, Brackets & Hardware.
• Specification: features Easy Installation.
• Position on the vehicle: Rear, Right.

About this kind of part: brackets and mountings

A bracket is the moulded or pressed part that holds a panel, a lamp or a bumper to the body of the car. It is hidden once everything is assembled, and it is designed to break: the bracket is cheap and the panel it carries is not, so in a light knock the bracket gives way first and takes the energy. That is why a car with no visible damage often still needs them, and why they are replaced far more often than the parts they hold.

Why people replace one

• A low-speed knock has snapped the bracket while leaving the panel it holds undamaged.
• A panel sits proud, droops at one end, or has a gap that will not close, because the bracket behind it has cracked.
• A rattle or a creak over bumps, where a broken bracket is letting a panel move against the body.
• The bracket was broken during a previous repair, taking a bumper or a lamp off, and never replaced.
• A lamp or a panel has been held on with tape, glue or a repair plate and the proper part is wanted.

Fitting it

• Most brackets are reached only with the panel they carry removed, so the job is usually done at the same time as the panel comes off anyway.
• They are held by screws, plastic nuts or clips into the body, and the fasteners are often broken on removal and worth having to hand.
• A bracket sets the position of the panel in front of it, so the panel gaps are worth checking before everything is tightened down.
• Where a bracket has snapped, look at the body mount behind it as well. The same knock often distorts the metal the bracket screws to.

Making sure it is the right one

• Match the part number. Brackets are handed, and the two sides of a car take different numbers even where they look like mirror images.
• A bracket is specific to the panel it carries and to the trim level, so one from a different version of the same model may locate in the body and still hold the panel in the wrong place.
• Count the fixing points and compare their spacing with the broken part in front of you. This is the quickest check there is.
• A repair plate is not the same part. If the original has snapped, the proper bracket restores the panel position; a plate holds it wherever it happens to sit.
