About part number 10229807A window weatherstrip is a rubber or flexible seal that fits along the edge of a vehicle door glass. It forms part of the door sealing system, resting against the window glass to stop rain, road spray, wind noise, and debris from entering the interior or running down inside the door cavity. When it is working correctly, the cabin remains dry, quiet, and draught-free, and the window glass slides smoothly up and down without rattling. To confirm that this seal is correct for your vehicle, you must check that your existing part matches the part number 10229807. Manufacturer part numbers are usually stamped, moulded, or printed directly onto the rubber body of the seal or on a small label near one of its ends. Do not rely on vehicle model names or production years to check fitment, as the part number is the only reliable way to ensure a correct fit. A weatherstrip is typically replaced when the rubber hardens, splits, shrinks, or becomes torn, allowing water leaks or wind whistle into the vehicle. When replacing this component, installers often need trim removal tools to unclip the door card and internal trims safely, as well as suitable cleaning solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and road grime from the mounting channel before fitting the new seal.
