About part number 98010234XTA door trim protector, often referred to as an airbump, is an exterior body panel attached to the outside of a vehicle door. It shields the underlying metalwork from light impacts, scuffs and everyday parking dents while providing a finished appearance to the side of the vehicle. When it is correctly fitted and undamaged, the driver will notice a neat, flush-fitting exterior surface with no loose edges or excessive wind noise. To ensure this component is correct for your vehicle, you must check that the part number 98010234XT matches the code on your original item. On a plastic body panel of this type, the part number is usually stamped or moulded directly into the plastic on the reverse side. Matching this exact number is the only way to confirm correct fitment, as physical shape and mounting locations vary. When replacing an exterior door trim, you will commonly need new plastic retaining clips or adhesive strips, as the original fasteners often break or lose tension during removal. Vehicles usually require a replacement trim protector after a side impact, or when the original panel has become scuffed, cracked or faded from weather exposure. |
