About part number 80012953

A tailgate interior panel is a trim cover that fits onto the inside of the boot lid or tailgate structure. It forms part of the cabin interior trim, concealing the wiper motor, locking mechanisms and wiring looms hidden within the door framework. When it is correctly fitted, it reduces road noise, protects the internal components from damage, and gives the boot area a clean, finished appearance.

To ensure this is the correct panel for your vehicle, you must check that the part number matches 80012953. Manufacturer part numbers are typically stamped or moulded directly into the plastic on the reverse side of the panel. Matching this exact number is the only way to guarantee the correct shape, colour, and fixing alignment for your car.

These trim panels are usually replaced if the plastic has been cracked, heavily scuffed by luggage, or if the mounting points have snapped during previous repairs. When fitting a replacement panel, you will usually require a set of plastic trim clips, as the original fasteners often bend, break, or lose their tension when the old panel is removed.

• Part type: Parcel Shelves.
