About part number LR027872An exhaust finisher is an exterior trim component mounted in the rear bumper assembly. It fits around or directly behind the tailpipe outlet, neatly framing the end of the exhaust system and protecting the surrounding bumper trim from direct heat and soot. When it is correctly fitted, the driver will notice a clean, flush appearance at the back of the vehicle with the exhaust exit properly aligned within the bumper panel. To ensure this is the correct component for your vehicle, you must check the part number directly against the item you are replacing. Manufacturers typically stamp or mould part numbers into the plastic or metal casing on the hidden reverse side of the trim. For this item, match the number LR027872 or the manufacturer reference BJ3M5C202AA to verify a correct fit, as matching the part number is what guarantees compatibility. When replacing an inner exhaust trim, installers often require replacement mounting clips, screws, or heat-resistant fixings, as the original fasteners frequently corrode or snap during removal. These trims are usually replaced due to cosmetic damage from rear impacts, melting caused by misaligned exhaust pipes, or broken mounting tabs that leave the trim loose.
